Western Bays 4th annual Hotrod show was held on Sunday August 31st, with up
to 80 vehicles and 17 bikes at the North City Shopping Centre Level 2 car park.

This year the emphasis was on better not bigger so we kept with the same area, and worked on our entrance and displaying the cars so that visually the show looked better.

Although we name the show as a 'Hot Rod Show' we also have other varied
vehicles of interest with Drag Cars, Sprint Cars, Limousines, Tow Trucks,
Imports, Bikes and Choppers, Trikes and anything else that would be of
interest to the general public which makes the show open to a wider community of people.

This year Western Bays invited the Wellington Chev Club and Capital Rodders to have their
own display which gave them their own corner to show off their cars.

Again our sponsors came to the party and supplied us with an abundance of
prizes, goodies bags and help with the making and setting up of the displays and frontage, so again a big thank you to the sponsors, because without them the show wouldn't be the success it was.

This year saw quite a few new cars that hadn't been on display before and even
some that were not even on the road yet but getting close, a big thanks to
those that brought vehicles for the show and we hope you enjoyed the day.

Another change to this year's show is we have always had the show on
Father's day, but this year we have brought it back a week so us Father's
could enjoy our day and there is also the Ramrodders Father's day cruise over to the
Wairarapa that we would annually miss out on, and quite a few potential cars
would go to this rather than display their cars.

Next year, I am sure will be even better, so we look forward to seeing you all there!

Clubrooms

Having outgrown our previous clubrooms, club members had been on the lookout for somewhere that gave us a little more room to stretch out and allow for our growing membership. Some time ago we found a great place for our members to call home, in the form of an ex cub-scout den in the Porirua area.

Thanks to the hard work and perseverance of some hard working members, Western Bays Street Rodders has finally moved in to our new club rooms! Well done for making it happen despite the odds being stacked against us at times!

Being over twice the floor size of our previous clubrooms, it allows a much more comfortable meeting point for our almost forty members - with the added bonus of plenty of car-parking and a park-like grass area outside. Members can now make the most of our strong family-oriented activities in our favorite city - Porirua.
